If we talk about the major works that have managed to mark the manga industry in some way, we can find the name of Jiro Taniguchi The versatile writer, scholar of European comics interested in creating real works of art through his unique style, able to put readers in very deep stories.

For the 50th anniversary of the debut of the late Taniguchi, who passed away in February 2017, two special exhibitions have been organized which will be included not only original images of the most famous works, but also unpublished drawingssome of which were never completed. The event will take place in two different locations, both in Tottori Prefecture, the author’s birthplace, before starting a tour involving other major cities in Japan.

The exhibition from the name Jiro Taniguchi’s world of drawing will be held at the Yonago City Art Museum from January 23 to February 21, and will focus on the evolution of the Mangaka style, from its debut with works like Kareta Heya to the sketches of the last works of all time. Fans can retrace the stylistic development of Taniguchi through the vision of around 200 tables.

The second performance, Jiro Taniguchi’s World of Drawing: Featuring Tottori, will take place from January 25th to February 21st at the Bird Theater in the city concerned Dedicated to drawings of the prefecture.
