Not every protagonist wakes up plotting world salvation. Some just want their pension sorted and a decent pint. Yashiro, the reluctant lead of Scum of the Brave (Yusha no Kuzu), falls firmly into the latter camp.
This Saturday brought the third promotional push, accompanied by fresh visual art. The message was clear: the second cour launches April 11 without pause.
New Voices Join the Cast
Two significant additions were announced for this second half:
- Tomokazu Sugita as Father Ayashima. Known for Gintoki Sakata in Gintama and Escanor in The Seven Deadly Sins.
- Ayumu Murase as Lord Hazeru Seito. Recognised as Hinata in Haikyuu!! and Iruma Suzuki in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
The Soundscape Takes Shape
OLM Studio hasn’t cut corners on audio. The opening theme “Revive” lands courtesy of ClariS. The closing responsibility falls to rock band wod, contributing “Non-Fiction” for the end credits.
Shinji Ushiro continues at the helm, with Kenichiro Suehiro maintaining compositional duties. Consistency matters when building tension across twenty-odd episodes.
The Setup Worth Knowing
We’re in an alternate 21st century where wealthy gangsters undergo illicit procedures to transform into Demon Kings. The countermeasure? “Braves”—bounty hunters willing to wade through the mess for the right price.
Yashiro enters with neither heroism nor ambition. His interests run toward cold beer, paid invoices, and card games.
Then three young hunters dangle a substantial fee for combat tutoring. Suddenly “easy money” becomes rather more complicated. Lord Hazeru Seito controls a third of Hokkaido and carries Demon Lord power. The students may have bitten off more than chewing lessons can address.
