The Premise
Akita Shoten ran the manga in Champion Cross starting March 2019. The setting: Chichibu, a real city in Saitama Prefecture known for festivals and mountain scenery.
Botan, a sheltered first-year, tries alcohol for the first time after meeting Ibuki, her dorm matron. Ibuki enjoys drinking privately—public drinking makes her uncomfortable. A friendship grows across shared drinks, late-night conversations, and quiet intimacy.
