Look, we need to talk about what just landed. Brain’s Base is giving us a summer anime, and honestly? The credentials are solid. Level Villager Just Dropped Its First Trailer.
The Villager of Level 999 locked in a July premiere on TV Tokyo and BS Fuji. The trailer dropped Thursday alongside a second key visual. Not exactly keeping us guessing.
The Team Behind It
Yoshinobu Kasai’s directing. Shinzou Fujita — yes, the To Your Eternity writer — is handling series composition. Kentarou Matsumoto on character design. Hiroshi Nakamura scoring. That’s not a gamble. That’s a strategy.
Voice Cast Additions
- Nobunaga Shimazaki voices Rex
- Aoi Koga — Kaguya herself — plays Tub
- Manaka Iwami, Lynn, Hiroya Egashira round out the announcements
Recognisable talent. No filler.
Source Material
Koneko Hoshizuki’s light novel ran from 2015 to 2019 — eight volumes, complete. The manga? Still going strong. Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine clearly sees an audience here.
With a title like Level 999, is this subverting the overpowered protagonist trope or leaning into it hard?
The trailer’s out. The cast is stacked. But what would make you commit to watching this come July?
