A Voice for a Heartwarming Story
Known for his acute vocal tone and musical sensitivity, Sugawara writes and composes his own songs. Since his digital debut with “Furaimi” in November 2020, he has built a strong following on platforms like Spotify and YouTube. In 2022, he was selected as an emerging artist in Spotify’s “Radar: Early Noise” program. “Filled” marks his first collaboration with an anime production.
Sugawara’s Message to Fans
The artist shared his excitement about being part of a series he already admired: “It’s my favorite series. It comforts me every day with the quiet life of Fuji and Kimi, and that slightly wet atmosphere that’s not overwhelming. I’m very happy to have been able to participate in something so dear.” He also mentioned that the song was co-written with Naoki Itai and aims to convey the idea that “such rain can be pleasant” as well as the warmth shared during seasonal moments with someone special.
“Filled” was released digitally on July 4, 2025, with its first physical format (CD single) arriving on July 30, 2025, marking a new chapter in Sugawara’s career.
With You and the Rain: An Anime That Tugs at the Heart
The animated adaptation of the slice-of-life manga by Ko Nikaido premiered on Saturday, July 5, 2025 in Japan and is broadcast globally via Crunchyroll in regions like Europe, America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
The series follows Fuji, who meets a peculiar creature on a rainy day. The creature, passing through a dog, offers an umbrella with a card reading: “Please take me home.” Moved by the tenderness of the situation, Fuji adopts it. From then on, his life becomes a warm adventure filled with friendship and shared moments.
