Fans claim that by opting for it Making All For One essentially possesses Shigaraki’s mind and body During the First War Arc, Horikoshi essentially “killed” one of the series’ most popular characters.
If you’re not following the manga, My Hero Academia’s first major “war” between the league of villains and professional heroes (with Class 1-A in the middle) revolved around the mission of stopping one of All For One’s secret followers . , dr Garaki, from Transform Tomura Shigaraki into “Plus Ultra Shigaraki”.an unstoppable, extremely powerful villain.
The mission was only partially successful since Shigaraki’s body proved unable to contain both his full-power decay quirk and the original All-For-One quirk that Garaki had secretly inserted into Shigaraki – with all the stolen quirks that go with it.
However, Shigaraki’s new powers also brought a major twist: All For One’s power turned out to be a Trojan Horse allowed the arch-villain to infiltrate his consciousness into Shigaraki’s bodyand essentially possessing it in a strange form of hybrid consciousness.
With All For One’s possession of Shigaraki, the nemesis’ personality dominated his young protégé. Essentially, The Shigaraki, for which My Hero Academia built an entire series, has been cancelled – and quite a few fans have a problem with it.
Now, on platforms like Reddit, you can find more and more threads dedicated to My Hero Academia’s main villain “He doesn’t seem to be himself anymore”. Fans analyzed Shigaraki’s eccentric moments and quirky behavior in detail, making him a wonderfully odd antagonist that felt layered and complex.
Many fans have been looking forward to seeing this character unleashed in one final battle against the powers of Izuku Midoriya’s One For All, but now it looks like it’s not going to happen the way we envisioned.
On the other hand, other My Hero Academia fans claim that the truth has been hidden from our eyes all along. Shigaraki was nothing more than a puppet for the story’s true “main villain”, All For One. After all, “Shigaraki” is just an extension of the main villain (his last name), how else could the final battle have taken shape?
Finally, there could be a solution that would do justice to both sides of this speech: Deku explained that his ultimate mission is to “save” Tenko Shimura from the “Shigaraki” doll that prepared and brainwashed All For One . If Izuku manages to separate the two, Shigaraki’s restored “Tenko” character may have all its quirky charmand be a powerful ally that will ultimately help kill All For One.
