To the lonely me who loved you tells the story of Koyomi Hidaka, a boy with divorced parents who lives with his father. One day the protagonist meets a girl named Shiori Sato and the two fall in love. However, the father and mother of the two boys also begin dating, and in order not to become stepbrothers, Koyomi and Shiori decide to travel to a parallel world.

This means that, as with the two works on paper, the films can be seen in the order the viewer prefers, but it is still necessary to see both in order to fully understand the story.
